A marvelous tour which will take you to the magnificent temples of Abu Simbel, these temples which were built by king Ramses II in the heart of the Nubian lands are considered one of the main highlights of the whole of Egypt . Escorted by your private Egyptologist tour guide you will have a different view of the temple through his knowledge. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel around 03:30 am to join the police convoy which departs Aswan for Abu Simbel at 04:00 am , on the way to Abu Simbel you have the opportunity of watching an overwhelming sunrise on the desert , arriving Abu Simbel around 06:45 am and after getting the tickets your guide will walk you to the temple and in front of its great entrances and the 4 colossal statues of king Ramses he will explain the history of the site(the great temple of king Ramses II and the temple of his wife queen Nefertary) , including details of the UNESCO-led relocation of the entire cliff face to higher ground to save it from drowning under the waters of lake Nasser after building the high dam , and how the temples were discovered by accident in 1813. Due to the large number of visitors to Abu Simbel, guides are not permitted inside either the Great Temple of Ramses II or the smaller Temple of Hathor. However, by using photos and illustrations, your guide will explain to you the structures and their interior artworks. You will then have free time to enter the temples and explore them at your leisure. As one of the most well preserved temples in Egypt the scenes inside both temples gives you an idea of how great and skillful the ancient Egyptian artists were. After visiting the temples there may be time for a short visit to the small visitor's center which documents the UNESCO relocation project, before returning to the minibus at 09:00 am for the drive back to Aswan. On the way back to Aswan you may have the opportunity of watching the beautiful mirage, after arriving Aswan you will be returned back to your hotel around 12:30 pm.
